WishDaily ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") available on Android and iOS. Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide (Optional)

The core features of WishDaily work without requiring you to create an account. However, if you choose to sign in:

• Phone Number: If you choose to authenticate, we collect your phone number solely for verification purposes. This is optional and not required to use the App.
• Favorites: Images you save to your favorites are stored locally on your device. If you sign in, favorites may be synced to our servers for backup.
• Language & Category Preferences: Your selected languages and category preferences are stored locally on your device.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Anonymous Device Identifier: We generate a random, anonymous identifier (UUID) when you first open the App. This identifier is stored locally on your device and is used for analytics purposes. It cannot be used to identify you personally.
• Usage Data: We collect anonymous information about how you use the App, including screens viewed, images shared, categories browsed, and features used. This helps us improve the App.
• Device Information: Basic device information such as device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and troubleshooting.
• Crash Reports: If the App crashes, we collect technical information about the crash to help us fix bugs and improve stability. These reports do not contain personally identifiable information.
• Session Recordings (Android only): On Android, we may record anonymized session replays to understand how users interact with the App. These recordings mask any text input and do not capture images or personal information.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Contacts or address book
• Photos or camera access
• Microphone or audio
• Financial or payment information
• Health or biometric data
• Advertising identifiers (we do not show ads)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the App's core functionality
• Display trending images based on aggregate share counts
• Remember your language and category preferences
• Send daily reminder notifications (if you enable them)
• Analyze anonymous usage patterns to improve the user experience
• Identify and fix bugs and crashes
• Test new features using feature flags

4. Sharing of Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate the App (listed in Section 5). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
• Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do NOT sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Third-Party Services

Our App uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Cloud infrastructure for data storage and optional authentication. Privacy Policy
• PostHog: Product analytics to understand app usage patterns. Collects anonymous usage data and device identifiers. Privacy Policy
• Sentry: Error monitoring and crash reporting to help us fix bugs. Privacy Policy
• WhatsApp: When you choose to share images, they are shared via WhatsApp's sharing interface. We do not have access to your WhatsApp contacts or messages. Privacy Policy

These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your information:

• Local Storage: Your preferences and favorites are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage (Android DataStore / iOS NSUserDefaults).
• Cloud Storage: If you sign in, data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption and security practices.
• Transmission: All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Local Data: Data stored on your device remains until you uninstall the App or clear app data through your device settings.

Analytics Data: Anonymous analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's retention policies (typically 6-12 months).

Account Data: If you created an account, you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the email below.

To Delete Your Data: You can delete your local data by uninstalling the App or clearing app data in your device settings. For cloud data deletion requests, please contact privacy@wishdaily.app.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request information about what data we have about you
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Opt-out: Disable analytics by contacting us (note: this may affect our ability to improve the App)
• Withdraw Consent: You can stop using the App at any time

9. Notifications

The App may request permission to send you notifications for daily reminders (morning and evening greetings). This is entirely optional. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through the App's settings or your device's notification settings. We do not use push notifications for marketing or advertising.

10. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@wishdaily.app and we will take steps to delete such information.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including the United States and European Union where our service providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries. We ensure that any such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page, updating the "Last updated" date, and/or through an in-app notification. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
